Abstract

Joint Communiqué of the 17th annual joint consultative meeting between the African Union Peace and Security Council (PSC) and the members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Addis Ababa, 6 October 2023. The meeting was convened to deliberate on peace and security issues in Africa within the context of the UN-AU partnership. Members of the UN Security Council and the African Union Peace and Security Council discussed issues of common concern on strengthening the AU and UN Peace Support Operations in Africa, the situation in Sudan, the situation in the Sahel region, the situation in Somalia and the activities of ATMIS, as well as the situation in the eastern DRC.
