Implementation of the Conclusions of Successive PSC Retreats and PSC Decisions from 2007 to 2016.

Abstract

The Retreat was chaired by Ambassador Mull Sebujja Katende, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Uganda to the AU and Chairperson of the PSC for the month of May 2017. Among the issues discussed include: -Implementation of collaborative Articles of the PSC Protocol (Art. 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20); Sustaining the functioning of PSC Subsidiary Bodies/Sub-Committees; Legal standing of outcomes of PSC Retreats; Presence of the Chairperson of the PSC during the Month; Implementation of Swapping Arrangements; Publicity of Outcomes of PSC meetings; Interaction with RECs/RMs; Criteria for Effective Membership of the Peace and Security Council; Cooperation with the United Nations and other International organizations.
