The Republic of Djibouti concluded its chairship of the PSC of the AU for the month of July 2022. In line with the PSC Annual Indicative Programme, meetings held include those on the thematic issues and emerging security concerns under consideration. The following three meetings were some of the highlights of the month: (i) Briefing on the situation in South Sudan; (ii) Briefing on the situation in Central African Republic and operations of MOUACA; and (iii) Ministerial Meeting on the consideration of the situation in Somalia and operations of ATMIS. PSC undertook a field mission to Somalia in the course of the month. Council was also represented in Lusaka, Zambia for the 4th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting which focused on the deepening of integration between the AU and the RECs/RMs as well as the launch of the Inter-Regional Knowledge Exchange Platform on Early Warning and Conflict Prevention (I-RECKE).
