Monthly Brief for the Activities of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) - December 2022

Abstract

The Federal Republic of Nigeria concluded its chairship of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU) for December 2022. The following activities took place during the month: (i) 9th Annual High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa; (ii) Briefing on the situation in Guinea-Bissau; (iii) Consideration of the mandate of the MNJTF; (iv) Briefing on the activities of the AFCONE and CTBTO; (v)Briefing on the maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea; (vi) Adoption of the Conclusions of the 14th PSC Retreat; (vii) Adoption of the Conclusions of the 2nd Joint Retreat of the PSC and APRM; and (viii) Consideration of the outcome of the Inaugural Lessons Learned Forum on AU Peace Support Operations and the African Standby Force.
