Conclusions of the Inaugural Lessons Learned Forum (LLF) on AU Peace Support Operations (PSOs) and the African Standby Force (ASF) from 1 to 3 November, 2022 in Abuja, Nigeria.

Abstract

The Inaugural LLF focused on five major segments namely: Mandating, Mission Planning, Deployment and Exit of PSOs: Lessons for the reconceptualization of the ASF; Mandate Implementation and Mission Management; Compliance and Accountability to International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights as well as Conduct and Discipline; Strengthening regional cooperation and international strategic partnerships and resourcing of PSOs; and Experiences and Lessons for the Future.
