The Republic of Cameroon concluded its chairship of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU) for the month of May 2022. The Provisional Programme of Work for May 2022 was adopted in April 2022 with eleven planned meetings, namely: (i) Brief on the state of humanitarian actions in Africa; (ii) Update on the situation in the Horn of Africa; (iii) Brief on transnational organized crimes and security in Africa; (iv) Open session on food security and conflict in Africa; (v) Preparation for the 5th Joint Retreat and 13th Annual Joint Consultative Meeting between the AUPSC and EUPSC; (vi) Open session on Living Together in Peace; (vii) Brief on Disarmament and Control of Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons in Africa; (viii) Brief on Civil-Military Relations; (ix) Military Staff Committee evaluation of the functioning and the capacity of the proposed structure of the Continental Logistics Base; (x) Update on the Situation in the Lake Chad Basin; (xi) Brief to the PRC on the activities of the PSC for May 2022.
