The Malawi Country Focus Report reviews the role and potential of the private sector in financing climate change and green growth. It further explores the scope for harnessing natural capital to finance adaptation and mitigation to climate change and to promote green growth. It builds on the analyses carried out at the continental level in the African Development Bank’s main African Economic Outlook (AEO) report This Report is structured as follows. Section 2 reviews Malawi’s recent macroeconomic perfor- mance and outlook. Section 3 discusses the private sector financing for climate and green growth. Section 4 discusses the role of natural capital for climate finance and green growth in Malawi. Section 5 draws some policy recommendations for the government, the donors’ community, the domestic and international private sector, and developed country governments. ..
