The mainstreaming guidance note provides clear and practicable processes on how The Bank can mainstream climate change (CC) and green growth (GG) into the project cycle for lines of credit (LOC), and purposefully aligns with Africa’s nationally determined contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Accord. It also guides client FIs on mainstreaming climate change and green growth at every stage of LOC on-lending project cycle. It is worthy to note that most of the mainstreaming tools are more relevant for client FIs, as it is a way for the Bank to transfer its climate action principles to FIs across the continent so as to accelerate strategic private sector participation to combat climate change.
