Commercial sex work (CSW) has become a subject of concern in most societies. Commercial sex workers are regarded as social menaces that offend cultural and social morals and values. In addition, they are seen as prominent players in the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This research explored the experiences of female sex workers (FSWs) at Ngundu Growth Point in Zimbabwe. The study endeavoured to examine the circumstances that drive women into CSW and the impact of prostitution on the well-being of FSWs. The choice of Ngundu Growth Point was predicated on the fact that it is located along the highway that connects South Africa with Zimbabwe, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo and, as a result, is a veritable money-making ground for FSWs.
