Urbanisation in Kenya

Abstract

Like most of Africa, Kenya is also characterized by rapid urbanization and urban growth. This article discusses and analyses current trends in Kenyan urbanization, the factors that have contributed to urbanization and urban growth, and the resultant consequences and development implications of such rapid urbanization and urban growth in the country. The article ends with recommendations for managing rapid urbanization in Kenya.
