Kwame Nkrumah: Still Remembered 34 Years On

Abstract

The late Ghanaian leader and pan-African thinker, Kwame Nkrumah, is doubtlessly one of those few African leaders that are still being remembered for their formidable vision for Africa and Africans at home and in the Diaspora. The nostalgia for Nkrumah, especially among the youth, is made more noticeable by the still precarious state of affairs in Africa. The youth want real change on the continent and an end to its dependence on those that want it to remain in this state of dependency - a situation that Nkruman coined the term "neocolonialism" to describe.
