This report is product of World Bank initiated sector study designed to support to government of Ghana’s program to develop a gender strategy. In addition to the government, a broad range of stakeholders participated in the study, including academic institutions, nongovernmental organisations (NGO’s), and women’s groups. Through workshops and mission visits the Bank identified four point of focus for the study: agriculture, micro finance for micro entrepreneurs, education, and health. The Bank team worked closely with the line ministries in agriculture, micro finance, education, and health to identify gender issues and study feasible recommendations. This report, which grew out of that sector review and analysis, is a joint product of team from the World Bank and their colleagues in the government of Ghana.
