Mission report dealing with the educational evaluation of a pilot project on the role of education in rural development in Uganda - outlines the work of the project at a teacher training school, where the teacher training curriculum was reviewed in order to adapt it to the rural area, mentions the reorientation of the primary school curriculum, the modification of primary teacher training and the community response, taking into account socio-economic factors, describes the methodology involved and ascribes the success of the project largely to a new scientific approach to the educational programme
